Will a photo look the same after conversion?

No, and this is expected. This tool traces an image into a small number of solid-color vector regions, which works well for logos, icons, and flat illustrations. A photo's smooth gradients and thousands of subtle colors get reduced to a limited color palette and blocky shapes — it will look like a stylized, posterized version of the original, not a faithful vector photo.

Why is the file size limit smaller than other conversion tools?

Tracing an image into vector shapes is more computationally intensive than a typical document conversion, so this tool caps uploads at 10MB rather than the 25MB most other tools here allow. Very large images are also automatically downscaled internally before tracing to keep conversion times reasonable.

Does it preserve transparency?

No. The traced SVG is built on a solid background, so any transparent areas in your PNG are filled in rather than staying see-through. If your source image needs a transparent background preserved exactly, keep it as a PNG.
